    • Ask the representative about the specific documentation or information that prompted the change.
  • What should I say when I call the IRS?
    • Mention that you received a CP220 notice and would like to review your account.
    • Have a copy of the notice and your tax return in front of you.
  • What if I disagree with the changes the IRS made?
    • Call the toll-free number on the notice by the due date to discuss your concerns.
    • Request clarification on the adjustment and provide any supporting documentation.
