- Part of the refund the IRS used is mine. The IRS used it to pay taxes my spouse owes. I don't owe any taxes. What can I do? You can file a Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation to claim your share of the refund.
- The IRS only used part of my refund. What happens to the part they didn't use? You'll receive a refund check for any part the IRS didn't use.
- What happens when the refund the IRS used didn't pay the full amount I owe, and I can't pay the rest? You can make a payment plan with the IRS when you can't pay the full amount you owe.
