I love that I can talk to [Sean] in real conversation. He doesn't try to talk over my head. He is very responsive to my questions and willing to make sure that I understand the answers. I trust him.
Sean believes that accounting does not need to be complex and can even be fun! As a problem solver, Sean is constantly looking for ways to explain complex accounting and tax information in easy and fun ways. Sean believes that when business owners have valuable information in front of them that is easy to read, they can make crucial decisions on a daily basis to keep their business moving forward.
Coming from a family of entrepreneurs and hard workers, Sean constantly saw the struggle of interpreting and understanding what accountants and CPAs were telling his parents and siblings in their own businesses. Knowing that there had to be an easier way, Sean chose accounting (and later taxation) as his area of study while attending the University of Central Florida.
Sean started his career at the Orlando office of BDO USA LLP (formerly Cross, Fernandez & Riley LLP (C/F/R)). It’s no surprise his talents were quickly recognized. It was here Sean developed his passion for working with a diverse group of clients, including high net worth families, hospitality, real estate, timeshare and technology organizations. He gained extensive experience in the area of pass-through taxation (including S-Corporations, Limited Liability Companies and partnerships) and entity structuring, making him a valued member of the team.
Sean went on to join a high net worth family as their Director of Finance, overseeing accounting, financing and reporting for the family’s wholly owned portfolio companies and private equity portfolio that included commercial real estate, multi-tenant complexes, apartments, mini-storage facilities, dormitories and real estate development projects. Additionally Sean and his team oversaw the accounting, financing, reporting and estate planning needs for family members and trusts. This type of experience and knowledge allows Sean to think outside the box for his clients, see growth potential, and provide superior strategic advice.
Sean’s passion for developing opportunities for small business owners led him back to his roots and resulted in the launching of his own business, DiMercurio Advisors. Sean’s vision was to disrupt the way people viewed accounting and CPAs. His approach as an accounting firm is to transform your financial statements into a conversation about your business. About your people. About your future.
Sean DiMercurio is proud graduate of the University of Central Florida. As a CPA exam survivor, Sean is an ideal mentor for students, start-ups, entrepreneurs and small business owners.
